Photos and Images

• Photos you capture or upload for tool identification, repair diagnostics, and project documentation
• Metadata associated with photos, including timestamps and device information

Usage Data

• App interaction data such as features used, screens viewed, and session duration
• Device information including model, operating system, and unique identifiers
• Diagnostic and crash report data

AI Interaction Data

• Questions and queries submitted to the AI Expert feature
• AI-generated repair assessments, tool identifications, and maintenance recommendations

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features
• To process photos through AI analysis for tool identification, repair diagnostics, and project planning
• To personalize your experience and provide relevant maintenance recommendations
• To communicate with you regarding your account, updates, and support requests
• To improve the App, develop new features, and enhance AI accuracy
• To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats

3. AI Photo Analysis and Processing

A core feature of Handyman.io involves analyzing photos you submit using artificial intelligence. When you use the camera or upload a photo for analysis, the following occurs:

• Your photo is transmitted securely to Google Gemini AI via our backend server for processing
• Google Gemini AI analyzes the image to identify tools, diagnose repair issues, or assess project requirements
• The AI-generated analysis is returned to you within the App
• Photos sent to Google Gemini are processed in accordance with Google's data processing terms and are not used by Google to improve their general AI models

You may delete your photos and associated analysis data at any time through the App. We do not sell your photos or analysis data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Supabase

We use Supabase for user authentication, database storage, and file storage. Your account data, project information, tool inventory, and uploaded photos are stored in Supabase's infrastructure.

Google Gemini AI

We use Google's Gemini AI service to analyze photos and provide intelligent responses through our AI Expert feature. Image data and text queries are sent to Google's servers for processing under their Cloud data processing terms.

Expo and React Native

Our App is built using Expo and React Native frameworks, which may collect anonymous usage analytics and crash reports to improve platform stability.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in Supabase's cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Security measures include:

• TLS 1.2+ encryption for all data transmission between the App and our servers
• AES-256 encryption at rest via Supabase's cloud infrastructure
• Row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data
• Auth tokens stored in OS-level secure storage (iOS Keychain) on mobile devices
• RS256-signed JWTs for server-to-server authentication with AI services

6. Data Retention

• Account data is retained until you delete your account
• Photos and AI analysis results are retained until you delete them or close your account
• Usage analytics are retained in aggregated, anonymized form for up to 24 months
• We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention

7. Your Rights

Access

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction

You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Deletion

You may request deletion of your personal data. You can delete individual photos and projects within the App, or request full account deletion through the Settings screen.

Data Portability

You may request a machine-readable export of your personal data, including your project history, tool inventory, and maintenance records.

Withdrawal of Consent

You may withdraw your consent for data processing at any time. Note that this may limit your ability to use certain features of the App.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice within the App or by sending you an email. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
